Visit this Neo-classical casino – meaning little house – situated on the Marino House estate, just outside of Dublin city centre. Considered the most important neo-classical building in Ireland, it was constructed in 1775 to resemble a simplistic building yet there are many illusions as to its size and structure when you explore the casino itself.

Highlights:

  • Neo-classical architecture
  • Views over Marino House and estate
  • Roman funerary urns
  • Elaborate décor including plasterwork ceilings and parquet flooring

Did you know:

- From the outside the building appears to be a compact one-roomed building, but in fact it contains 16 rooms over three floors

- There are disguised partitions and panes of glass separating the rooms and acting as hidden windows

- Originally the Marino Casino linked through to Marino House, yet this tunnel has been closed off now

Public tours run on the hour, every hour from 10am. Booked group tours run on the half hour 10.30am, 11.30am, etc.
